During their stay in EFIV, they observed classes, some activities supported language, but more importantly, they provided students with the preparation of carnival costumes.
masks, necklaces, breastplates, scepter ..., painting, cutting, gluing ... children have actively made their costumes they were happily eating pancakes coated. Each class had prepared the dough: measure the ingredients, crack eggs, stir, then activities that lead to other more academic exercises (reading and writing recipe for example).
Mardi Gras (1
February 6 this year) is in traditional Catholic countries. This is the last day before Lent 40 days later lead to Easter. However, during Mardi Gras, believers and nonbelievers feast on pancakes, donuts and other sweets often fried. The most spectacular carnivals are Nice, Venice, Rio de Janeiro and New Orleans
We advanced the carnival a week so that Constance and Natalie can see the result of their hard work, but have had to forgo a parade through the streets because of snow depth and ice.
